Professor Dr. Nor Aziah Abd Manaf has returned to Tunku Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA-UUM) as the new Dean starting 1st February 2022 after serving as Director of Research & Innovation Management Centre for three years and one year at Institute of Quality Management.
Professor Dr. Nor Aziah, better known as Prof Azi among colleagues, earned a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons.) degree from UUM in 1993 and an MBA (Accounting) in Sheffield, United Kingdom in 1996. She completed her PhD in Taxation on time in 2004 at Nottingham University Business School in the United Kingdom.
At the national level, Prof Azi was a council member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and currently sits in the MIA Board of Education as well as a panel auditor for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Prof Azi is also a master trainer in Industrial Training and Problem-based Learning (PBL) for the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKePT). Her research interests are related to fiscal tax policy in the oil and gas sector, tax compliance, land tax, and the self-assessment system, since she specializes in taxes. Her articles have appeared in a number of reputable academic and professional journals.
Prof Azi said that she looks forward to supporting the mission of TISSA-UUM in offering high quality accounting programmes and to advance knowledge in accounting so as to serve the global community. “As a senior academics and a graduate of TISSA-UUM, I am honoured to serve as the Dean of TISSA-UUM,” she added.
